Being the DJ at a royal wedding would be the dream for any disc jockey, and one ambitious man took a step to make it happen when he slipped Prince Harry and Meghan Markle his business card in London.
The engaged couple was visiting Reprezent radio station in Brixton when Jevanni Letford, a DJ and presenter for the station, saw his chance. As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle walked by, he thrust his card into Harry's hand and yelled, "DJ at your wedding!" The prince paused to study the card before smiling and putting it into his coat pocket.
The interaction was caught on video, and Twitter has rallied behind the gutsy artist. The video has received over 7,000 retweets in only a few days and people are wishing him good luck with landing the lavish event.
"Someone shouted out 'DJ at your wedding' as Harry and Meghan walked past lmao," Twitter user @OmgLaLaLove posted. "Shoot your shot 2018."
Another Twitter user, @Amisma, posted, "Man has got to take every chance innit."
"This man knows if you want something ya gotta put yourself out there," @Pippsta tweeted.
The royal wedding will take place May 19. Letford has since launched a petition for the couple to give him a 30 minute DJ set at their wedding celebration.
"We want to show and inspire young people to believe that anything is possible if they seize the opportunity and chase their dreams," the petition reads.
Best of luck to DJ Jevanni!
